Becoming a Criminal

Personal Missions​

95% of the missions that show up in the 'Personal' tab of the 'Contracts Manager' on the mobiGlass will give you a Crimestat! What is a Crimestat? You can think of it as a 'Wanted' level in Grand Theft Auto or Need for Speed. The higher the level, the more the UEE ships will come after you. These can range from level 1 to 5.

  • Level 1 crimestat: you can pay off level 1 crimestats at any fine terminal
  • Level 2 crimestat: level 2 crimestats can be paid off at any fine terminal from 3.18 onwards
  • Level 3 crimestats and above: these can be cleared by hacking it away or getting sent to prison when dying to the authorities, shutting your ship off with authorites nearby, or someone who has your bounty kills you. More information on how to clear your crimestat is in the next section.

Another way to obtain a crimestat is by shooting a blue or white target and...fun enough...sometimes shooting a red target. Here's what those mean:

  • Blue target
    • good guy (don't shoot unless you want a crime stat)
  • White target
    • could be a good guy (don't shoot unless you want a crime stat)
    • could be a ship that someone has walked away from i.e. left the pilot seat to complete an FPS mission, left the ship to mine in a vehicle, etc)
  • Red target
    • if a target shows up and is initially white, then changes to red without firing missiles or weapons at you (QED and EMP included), that is a baddie and IS ok to shoot
    • if a target shows up as white, changes to blue, then starts shooting missiles or weapons at you (QED and EMD included), then turns red...this means that this initially was a goodie who decided to start shooting at you for some reason. Careful when taking these out, there's a slight possibility you may get a charge! As patches continue, defending yourself will continue to get better as well.

Why would I want to become a criminal?​

It's fun! There are multiple mission-givers that you can gain reputation with that lead to really fun, semi-complex, semi-difficult. The best part? The action comes to you! PvP bounty hunters, PvE cops, special missions...it's a great time. A lot is on the line and it's very exciting. Once you get to a crimestat 5, a special mission will show up offering you 60,000 aUEC to take out 8 UEE pilots within one hour of the first shot taken. Take out a Hammerhead and you've done it!
